Who Has Time to Meditate?
Consider some of the benefits of meditation
How much time do you need to get these benefits?
We live in a world of constant stimulation. As each new event grabs your attention you are learning to respond to it, and quickly extract what information you can before it is overtaken by the next diversion. This is often exciting, interesting and addictive. It is also exhausting. Your body chemistry has a hard time telling the difference between excitement and anxiety, in fact it responds in the same way to both.
The result of this continual process is tension, we forget how to relax. The things that help us relax are quite simple and well known, such activities as yoga, walking in nature, watching a beautiful sunset, spending time with good friends, contemplation or meditation, they all work but they all take time. And this is the problem, who has time these days to indulge in activities that take so many hours out of your day.
According to Wikepedia: "Different meditative disciplines encompass a wide range of spiritual and/or psychophysical practices which may emphasize different goals - from achievement of a higher state of consciousness, to greater focus, creativity or self-awareness, or simply a more relaxed and peaceful frame of mind."
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) produces similar effects. Within half a dozen treatments here are some of the things patients typically tell me:
- I am sleeping better
- I feel better in myself
- I am coping more easily with my problems
- I can think straight again
- My headaches have gone
- My back has stopped aching
- I feel more in control
